Life can get overly hectic and exhausting when you are a mom. Making time to put together a nutritious meal for yourself or take 30 minutes to exercise can seem impossible and almost luxurious. Fortunately, there are still a few tricks to stay healthy without busting your pocketbook. The following are three health tips for moms no matter how busy you seem to be.

Find free ways to exercise at home. Many cable packages come with a few different workout channels that do not cost anything additional. Also, check your local library for workout DVDs. A lot of public libraries will carry yoga, Pilates, aerobics and much more. It is very easy to incorporate your child into your workouts as well. Take your baby on a run in the stroller, play tag, or go to the park and chase them around. If you are a working mom, try to do stretches every hour and use your lunch hour as a time to be active. Research shows that energy levels are higher if you choose regular exercise over taking a nap.

Among the three health tips for moms is drinking a lot of water for more energy.Slight dehydration can cause headaches and fatigue before you even feel thirsty. A great way to stay hydrated is to start your day with a big glass of water. Drink the full glass before you have your morning cup of Joe. Also take a water bottle with you everywhere. When you have water at your fingertips, you are more likely to drink it.Fruits and veggies are packed with water and can be a great way to keep you hydrated and feeling energized.

There are times where you might feel drained and it is only 10:00 a.m. Lots of moms will grab a candy bar or a caffeinated drink to keep them going. However, those short energy bursts only last for a short period of time and often result in crashing. Keep smart small snacks with you throughout the day. Some snack ideas are bananas with peanut butter, Greek yogurt with fruit, or a serving of trail mix.

Parenting can be a very demanding job, but taking care of yourself can make you a much better parent. Start these three health tips for moms today and see if they make a difference in your life.
